Passionate and highly embedded in XXth and XXIst century music, due to his percussionist background, Remi Durupt knows how to create a singular and personal path as conductor, always open minded to every kind of musical projects, specially of which are concerned on transdisciplinar aspects. chef d’orchestre, percussionniste, improvisateur et pédagogue, a singular artistic path, open to original artistic collaborations that open up various styles and concert formats.

First prize at “Antal Dorati International Conducting Competition” in Budapest (2021) and at “ Giancarlo Facchinetti International Conducting Competition” in Brescia (2018), Rémi Durupt (assistant conductor in Peter Eötvös Foundation’s Mentoring Program) get noticed for his skills on the diversity of musical expression, from repertoire to world premiere, and also in electronic composition and free improvisation. Concours International Dorati (Budapest 2021) and Concours International Facchinetti, (Brescia 2018) in the direction of orchestra, he is also winner of the Concours International de Genève in 2009 in percussion.

Principal guest conductor of Orchestre de Chambre de la Drôme since 2023, The Drôme Chamber Orchestra depuis 2023, il est également amené à diriger en France et à l’étranger des ensembles contemporains tels que Linea, Multilateral, 2e2m, Cairn, Tempus Konnex, Dedalo, Lucilin, Umze, Impronta, Ars Nova and l'ensemble Links dont il est cofondateur et dont leur album (label KAIROS) autour de Steve Reich fût récompensé d’un Diapason d’Or en mai 2021.

Son expérience symphonique s’est forgée avec des orchestres tels que Orchestre National de Bretagne, Orchestre National Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Orchestre National de Mulhouse, Orchestre National d'Ile-De-France, Orchestre National de Metz-Grand Est, Luxembourg Chamber Orchestra, Belle Image Orchestra Epinal, Anhaltische Philharmonie Dessau, Gürzenich Orchester Köln, Danubia Obuda OrchestraSavaria Symph. Orchestra, Alba Regia Orchestra, Plock Symph. Orchestra, Armenian State Symph. Orchestra, Toulouse Wind Orchestra, ainsi qu’auprès de Peter Eötvös lors de sessions avec le BBC Symph. Orchestra, ConcertGebouw Amsterdam and Berliner Philharmonicer aside Peter Eötvös conductor.

 

Il aborde les scènes lyriques en dirigeant la création de l’opéra Les Sauvages by G. Hazebrouck, The Rakes's Progress Rake by Stravinsky with Grant Llewellyn, of whom he received the Claude-Rostand Award for Best Lyric Production 2022 (staging: Mathieu Bauer) in Rennes and Angers-Nantes Opera and La Vieille Maison by Marcel Landowski and La Serenade by Sophie Gail in the same opera house. He was assistanting Pascal Rophé with ONPL on Siegfried, Nocturne (music by M. Jarrell, staging Olivier Py) and the premiere of Philippe Leroux' opera L'Annonce faite à Marie (staging: Célie Pauthe).

Supported and advised byEnno Poppe (Ensemble Modern Academy) and Peter Eötvös & Gregory Vajda (Académie de Royaumont and Budapest), he was student of Jean-Philippe Wurtz, Laurent Gay, William Blank, Nicolas Brochot and Laurent Goossaert in Geneva, Strasbourg and Evry. He gets the prize « B. Bettinelli » at the Dedalo Ensemble Academy, at the Vittorio Parisi Dedalo Academy.

As renowned percussionist, it is responsible for nouvelles oeuvres solo, musique de chambre, pour ensemble et orchestre et est improvisateur dans l'ONCEIM également.

He exerce sa passion pour la transmission dans des établissements comme le pôle supérieur Résonances de Poitiers-Bordeaux, en direction d’orchestre au in Lille Conservatoireand masterclass in France and abroad. He is also chief in the project DEMOS Lyon Métropole.
